MP1 Microphone Preamp for Electric and Accoustic Instruments

The MP1 Microhpone Preamplifier was a custom project which lead to the actual version of this versatile onboard unit. Designed especially for the low impedance “Golden Bullet” Condenser Microphone (K&K SoundTM) it is also recommended for other high-grade, low impedance microphones.
The in-circuit 9V phantom supply provides power for most condenser microphones available.

Accoustic instruments often suffer from the risk of low frequent feedbacks especially on stage. With the integrated high pass filter it is easy to fade out undesirable low mud and clear your sound.

The gain is adjustable between 0dB and 20dB via trimmer.

Like on all our products the performance is achieved through careful circuit design with attention to detail and selection of finest components available.


  • Low noise amplifier design with precise and smooth sound reproduction.
  • 0,1% precision metal film resistors in the signal path with a resultant noise factor of up to 10 times lower than standard thick film resistors.
  • Low tolerance film capacitors featuring lowest distortion and superior linearity.
  • High Pass filter in the range of 30Hz to 1,6kHz, adjustable via potentiometer.
  • Adjustable gain from 0dB to 20dB via high quality trimmer.
  • Completely shielded and encapsulated – no shielding inside the instrument is required.

After manufacture each unit undergoes a throughout test and inspection. This ensures each unit passes strictly quality standards. Serial number is carried out for traceability purposes.
Installation of the preamp will require some basic soldering skills. Instead of not being difficult, professional installation is recommended.
NOTE: Excessive heat and incorrect soldering equipment usage or selection may damage the electronics.
